Residential and commercial sites in LakeWatch Plantation on Smith Mountain Lake to sell at absolute auction
ROANOKE, Va. (April 2, 2012) -- Home sites and commercial sites in Smith Mountain Lake’s LakeWatch Plantation will sell at auction Saturday, May 5, with Woltz & Associates managing the sale.
LakeWatch Plantation is a self-contained development on the Franklin County side of the lake, located between Halesford Bridge and Westlake. It has 220 acres of open space and a variety of residential options, including waterfront home sites, estate home sites and carriage home sites -- all of which will be included in the auction, according to Jim Woltz, president of the auction company.
“We’ll be selling 10 waterfront home sites, including five that can build their own docks and five that will have designated boat slips on the community docks,” said Woltz. “I love this development, because it combines convenience with a remarkable sensitivity toward preserving the natural beauty. There are even plans in the works to donate a part of the development to the county for a recreational park.”
Also selling will be six elevated estate building sites and nine carriage home lots. “The estate lots are within walking distance of the YMCA, and the carriage homes are right across the street from it, with a pond and gazebo and paved walking trails,” said Woltz.
The four commercial sites range in size from 1.021 to 1.766 acres. Commercial properties operating already include Bojangles, Jonathan’s and El Torren restaurants, as well as PAC Interiors and the Bank of Botetourt.
All of the home sites and commercial sites have water and sewer service.
The auction will begin at 1 p.m. at the LakeWatch YMCA. Individuals seeking additional information may call 800-342-3560 or visit woltz.com.
