Class A office building in Elkins, WV to sell at auction

ELKINS, W. Va. (Feb. 21, 2012) -- A Class A office building with approximately 19,000 square feet of finished office space on three levels will sell at auction Wednesday, March 28, with Woltz & Associates managing the sale.

The property sits on approximately 3.78 acres at 340 Beverly Pike and was previously occupied by a law practice.

Auctions of bank-owned properties draw big crowds in Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina

ATLANTA (Feb. 21, 2012) -- Real estate investors and individuals alike snapped up more than 455 bank-owned properties for a total of just over $7 million last week. The properties -- which included  office buildings, car washes, land and home sites -- were sold in a series of four auctions by John Dixon Associates.

Internet auctions grow in popularity for farm and construction equipment as Purple Wave attracts bidders by the thousands

MANHATTAN, Kan. (Feb. 8, 2012) -- Internet auctions are gaining broad acceptance as a way to sell heavy construction and farm equipment, trucks and other major business assets. 

That trend was reflected in the 2011 results of Purple Wave, the Kansas-based company that specializes in Internet auctions of heavy equipment. During the year, the company sold more than 20,000 items, according to Jerrod Westfahl, president and CEO.

Major auction of Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina bank-owned real estate to span two days, four cities

ATLANTA (Jan. 30, 2012) -- More than 455 properties owned by five different banks will sell Feb. 15-16 in an auction that will be spread over four events in two days. The properties -- which will include office buildings, car washes, land, waterfront home sites and many others  -- will be sold in four separate events on Feb. 15 and 16, with John Dixon & Associates managing the sales.

Iowa farmland to sell in Feb. 22 auction

FORT DODGE, Iowa (Jan. 25, 2011) -- Approximately 430 acres of productive Iowa farmland will sell at auction Wednesday, Feb. 22, with Murray Wise Associates marketing the property and managing the sale.

"Iowa farmland has been in the national news a lot because of the strong returns this asset class has provided, and this is highly productive ground right in the heart of the Corn Belt," said John Kirkpatrick, who manages Iowa operations for Murray Wise Associates.

Reality check: Iowa farmland may not be as steep as you think

CLARION, Ia. (Dec. 21, 2011) -- With media nationwide reporting Iowa farmland sales of $18,000 and even $20,000 per acre, land broker John Kirkpatrick believes people are getting the idea that it's too late to get a good deal on a farm. But actually, good farmland is still available for less than half that.
